
About The Life Skills Mentoring Academy
At The Life Skills Mentoring Academy, we believe that every child and young person deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported — just as they are.
We provide playful, trauma-informed, therapeutic coaching that meets each individual where they’re at — emotionally, physically, and developmentally. We recognise that behaviour is communication, and we work gently beneath the surface to support nervous system regulation, build trust, and help young people learn how to cope with life’s challenges.
Our work is rooted in compassion, creativity, and connection. Whether we’re supporting big feelings, social struggles, or sensory needs, we use movement, games, imagination, and curiosity to nurture real growth — not just surface-level change.
We’re not here to “fix” children. We’re here to walk alongside them — and the grown-ups who care for them — as they discover their voice, their strength, and their ability to move through the world with more confidence, calm, and self-awareness.
How do we do this?
We use therapeutic coaching and wellbeing sessions, which combine a number of key principles from different therapeutic approaches, including tools and techniques from my own unique blend of experience and knowledge. Any trauma you might have suffered is accounted for including its impact on your behaviour, mental health, and ability to engage in treatment. Interventions will be tailored in the context of your trauma history, triggers, and specific needs. The combination of techniques allows us to explore problems holistically, on the level of both body and mind.
What to expect from coaching sessions
One-to-one coaching sessions provide a safe, non-judgmental space in which to gain greater awareness about the challenges you are experiencing. They offer you clarity about where you are now, where you would like to be and what is getting in the way; while providing you with strategies to work through those barriers, so you can move towards change.
Sessions will enable you to connect with yourself more fully and will empower you with solutions to help you feel better. The approaches support your emotional wellbeing, helps to relieve stress and anxiety, increases your confidence and self-esteem, and allows you to experience positive change.
